Malaya Tech Consulting is seeking a Technical Documentation & Research Analyst who can translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content and support our teams with relevant, up-to-date industry research. This role is essential to bridging the gap between our technical experts and our clients—making sure documentation, proposals, manuals, and internal knowledge are accurate, insightful, and easy to understand.
As part of a remote-first team, you’ll collaborate closely with consultants, developers, and stakeholders across multiple projects in the financial systems and ERP space. You’ll also play a key role in supporting client training, solution documentation, and market analysis.
Responsibilities
- Technical Documentation
- Create and maintain user manuals, system guides, API documentation, training materials, SOPs, and internal knowledge base.
- Draft clear and concise project documentation for custom-built systems, especially in finance and ERP (Anaplan, Odoo, etc.).
- Research & Analysis
- Conduct industry and competitor research, especially around financial systems, Anaplan, Odoo, and compliance (e.g., BIR CAS/EIS).
- Research evolving trends in finance technology, ERP, and software development to support product/solution development.
- Support internal teams with fact-checking, validation, and sourcing credible data.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, consultants, and project managers to gather technical details and project requirements.
- Assist business development teams in writing proposals, pitch decks, and client-specific documentation.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure documentation meets relevant standards (e.g., BIR compliance for CAS/EIS) and aligns with client and internal policies.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in technical writing in a software or IT consulting environment.
- Strong command of English with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to understand and simplify complex technical topics (software architecture, databases, APIs, etc.).
- Familiarity with at least one documentation or knowledge management tool (e.g., Confluence, Notion, Google Docs).
- Proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience working in remote, collaborative environments.
Nice to have
- Basic understanding of software development technologies (VB.Net, SQL, Informatica, cloud/on-prem databases).
- Familiarity with financial systems or ERP (e.g., Anaplan, Odoo, Oracle APEX).
- Understanding of BIR CAS / EIS documentation and compliance requirements.
- Experience in preparing training materials or e-learning content.
- Graphic design or visual communication skills (for visual aids, diagrams, infographics).
- Experience with agile/scrum environments and collaboration tools (Jira, Trello, etc.).
